CTIA: Mytopia Sets Sail to Mobile

Thursday, 11 September 2008

Real-time cross-platform gaming developer and publisher Mytopia has announced that it will extend the reach of its platform to mobile. Currently, the platform is already plugged into various social networks.

“At Mytopia, we’re helping the world play together by enabling people from any network or device to log into a global digital playground and interact with friends in real-time,” said Guy Ben-Artzi, Founder and CEO of Mytopia Inc. “Bringing Mytopia to mobile platforms is the next step in fulfilling this dream as community members can now play from whichever platform or device that’s most convenient – from the web at work, desktop at home, and any mobile device in between.”

Mytopia is a virtual world filled with timeless, classic games and rich social features. Players can challenge friends to a game of Chess or Poker, enter a chatty Bingo room, or join a team to play against other groups from around the world. Players earn Silver and Gold Nuggets, the Mytopian currency, and cash out their winnings for virtual and real prizes in the Shop. With real-time connectivity and accessibility across multiple platforms, audiences will now have the ability to stay connected to their Mytopia games and friends no matter where they go.

“Mytopia Mobile allows us to explore new business models that haven’t been seen before because it has been so difficult to deliver a live, seamless web to mobile gaming experience. Mytopia is free-to-play on the web and players will be able to subscribe to the mobile extension or purchase individual games a la cart for their phone. This frees us from depending on ads, which can interfere with an immersive online gaming session,” added Ben-Artzi.
