AT&T and I-Play Launch Development Contest
Ever wanted to go live on a big US carrier? AT&T announced their Windows Mobile based Game Development Contest in close cooperation with mobile game publisher I-Play.
The winning developer will not only get premium placement on AT&T's Media Mall, but also get an instant cash prize of $25,000 (or roughly €12.500 for EU contestants).
"AT&T has a strong commitment to deliver more wireless choices to our customers — in terms of products, services and applications," said Mark Collins, vice president, Consumer Data, for AT&T's wireless unit. "One way we reinforce this commitment and demonstrate that we are open to innovation is by working closely with the developer community so that we can bring visibility to their creativity, while ensuring that our customers have access to the most advanced, compelling and fun products and services — now and in the future."
"We are happy to support this contest and encourage developers to take full advantage of our powerful, flexible platform, providing AT&T customers with new applications that can enhance their mobile experiences," said Scott Horn, general manager of the Mobile Communications Business, Microsoft Corp. "With such a broad portfolio of AT&T devices, Windows Mobile is ripe for developers looking to reach a mass audience with their products."

The deadline for the contest is July 31st. Entries can be submitted via this website. The winner will be announced during CTIA Wireless in San Fransisco. Prizes will also be awarded to three finalists and 10 subfinalists.

Just read, however, rule number 4... I couldn't believe it. You have to give up all the rights to your game. The IP, the name, everything. And this is not only for the one who makes 25K$ (how generous of them...). It's the same for every submission !
I expected something more fair from such high profile sponsors !
If I misread the rules, please explain me where :)
PS: this is more €16.000 rather than €12.500.
