HandyGames Turns 8 and Continues Expansion

HandygamesGerman developer and publisher HandyGames has turned 8, which quite an accomplishment for a privately owned and profitable player in this market.

The company announced to have reached a profit level of about 10% over 2007. For 2008, the company hopes to expand it's distribution further into the North-American market. Next to that, the developer also recently announced to be developing games for Nintendo's DS handheld console.

“The company has produced more than 100 titles and received way over 100 international awards. Constant innovation and highest quality „Made in Germany“ are firmly embedded in the company’s philosophy. „100% of our downloadable games are produced at our headquarters in the heart of Germany.“, says Markus Kassulke, CEO of HandyGames™. „The fresh ideas and innovative concepts coming from us have contributed to start new trends and to shape progress in the market. Due to our high reputation and quality, we are increasingly the first choice for license holders to create mobile versions of their own brands. This fact makes us proud.“

“Currently, 35 experienced employees produce approximately 25 titles a year. That’s a very high efficiency if you compare it to the numbers of our competitors, who sometimes need a couple of hundred employees to reach the same number of releases“, says Udo Bausewein, founder and CFO. „Our scalable organisation and the optimized cost structure both enable us - in the mid-term - to double our titles per year and to even tackle the industry’s big players.“

“Since the foundation in 2000, the contact persons in our management haven’t changed for our partners. A small miracle, if you consider the current trends in the mobile games sector, the continuing consolidation and the increasing trend to job hopping“, says Christopher Kassulke, CEO and founder, commenting the company’s continuity. „The name HandyGames™ will continue to shape the global market for mobile games and will continue to constantly provide innovation.”
